Hospice

Hospice is not about death but rather about providing every individual nearing the end of life’s journey a sanctuary to live each day fully and enjoy precious moments with loved ones up until the last breath.

Hospice professionals care for the whole patient: physical, emotional and spiritual needs are all addressed.  The emphasis is no longer on a cure but on comfort. Care is provided in the patient’s home, wherever that home may be—board and care home, long-term care facility or private residence.

Families and physicians alike agree that hospice offers the best possible health care alternative for those nearing the end of life.

“It is very clear to me as a family doctor, that an essential part of being a good doctor is caring for patients and families as a whole, through all stages of life . . . this includes the end of life, and those living with terminal illness. At The Elizabeth Hospice we are dedicated to the very finest in hospice care. I am proud to be a part of this caring and compassionate team.” – Nicholas Jauregui, M.D., Medical Director, The Elizabeth Hospice

“The care my dad received from hospice was magnificent, but the care we received as a family was the greatest unexpected benefit. Because of The Elizabeth Hospice, Dad’s last days were happy days, and we were afforded the time to laugh together, share lifetime memories, and, yes, cry together.” – Monique Kuh, daughter

“Words can’t begin to thank you for the loving care you gave to Virginia. We know she died with the grace and dignity she would have wanted.” – Bob & Kathe Crowe, friends
